DKC Wooden Cabinetry designs and installs fully custom closet systems for homeowners throughout Vaughan, Woodbridge, Maple, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, King City, and all of GTA North. Every closet system we build is designed in 3D to your exact room dimensions, manufactured in our local Ontario workshop, and installed by our own crew — not subcontractors.
Whether you need a walk-in closet with island drawers and full-height hanging, a reach-in double-hang system, or a complete bedroom closet wall, DKC builds custom closet solutions that outlast any kit system — because they’re built with furniture-grade plywood, not particleboard.

- Reach-in closet systems — maximized double-hang, upper shelving, and full-extension drawers built precisely for standard bedroom closet openings.
- Master bedroom closet walls — floor-to-ceiling built-in closet units replacing or surrounding freestanding wardrobes. Seamlessly integrated into the room architecture.
- Children’s closet systems — flexible, adjustable shelving that adapts as children grow from toddler to teen to young adult.
- Shared bedroom closets — split-section his-and-hers layouts with dedicated zones, clearly divided by function.
- Dressing room conversions — full room closet buildouts turning a spare bedroom or large space into a luxury dressing room with island, seating, and mirror integration.
Why DKC Closet Systems Outperform IKEA, California Closets & Box-Store Kits
Vaughan homeowners have more options than ever for closet storage — and more reasons to be disappointed. Here’s why DKC’s custom approach consistently delivers a better result:
- Furniture-grade plywood construction — DKC builds every closet box from furniture-grade plywood. It holds screws securely, resists humidity, and doesn’t swell or delaminate over time the way particleboard does in real GTA North homes.
- Built to your exact dimensions — our closet systems use your room’s actual measurements: height, width, depth, doorway clearances, and any architectural quirks. No gaps, no filler panels, no wasted corners.
- Soft-close hardware standard — every drawer and door in a DKC closet system closes softly and quietly, standard, not as an add-on charge.
- Integrated lighting and accessories — pull-out baskets, tie and belt racks, velvet-lined jewellery drawers, LED strip lighting, and full-height mirrors are specified during design and built in, not bolted on afterward.
- One team, full accountability — DKC designs, builds, and installs every closet. There’s no third-party installer who’s unfamiliar with the cabinet design, and no miscommunication between a designer and a contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions — Custom Closet Systems Vaughan
How long does it take to build and install a custom closet in Vaughan?
From approved design to completed installation, most DKC closet projects take 6–10 weeks. This includes manufacturing time in our GTA North workshop and scheduling our installation crew.
Can a custom closet system be added to an existing room?
Yes — most DKC closet systems are installed into existing bedrooms, dressing rooms, or walk-in spaces without any drywall, electrical, or structural changes. We work around your existing room as-built.
What finish options are available for custom closets?
DKC offers painted finishes (any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams colour), wood veneer, melamine in dozens of colours and textures, and combinations of two finishes. We bring samples to your in-home consultation.
Is a custom closet worth it compared to IKEA PAX or California Closets?
Custom closets built with furniture-grade plywood last significantly longer than particleboard kit systems. They’re built to your exact dimensions, so there’s no wasted space. And with DKC’s 10-year workmanship warranty, you have accountability that no flat-pack system offers.
